CITIZEN WATCHES, MEN'S WATCHES, SOLAR POWERED WATCHES, WATCH HISTORY

Citizen  is one of the largest and most popular watchmakers in the world today. The company’s timekeeping origins date back to 1924 in Tokyo, Japan with the introduction of a pocket watch by the Shokosha Watch Research Institute. The pocket watch was given the name Citizen by the city’s mayor with hopes that a luxury item of this quality would become available to ordinary citizens and sold throughout the world by the Institute.

The Tokyo mayor’s statement would later prove to become a prophecy as the Institute changed their name to Citizen and introduced many revolutionary timepieces in the past ninety years, including the first Japanese shock-proof watch in 1956 named the Parashock, along with the first Japanese water-resistant timepiece in 1959 named the Parawater and the world’s thinnest wristwatch for men in 1962, named the Diamond Flake.

In 1975 the Citizen Watch Company of America was established, marking the brand’s complete distribution channel in the continent  after a 15-year distribution agreement with Bulova Watches. Twenty-three years later in 2008, Citizen purchased Bulova, making the them the largest watchmaker in the world.

One the biggest milestones in Citizen’s watchmaking history came in 1995 with the introduction of the Eco-Drive wristwatches. These innovative, solar-powered quartz timepieces are powered by the rays of the sun or other light sources, and unlike other quartz watches do not require new batteries.

Citizen Altichron Eco-Drive

The Citizen Promaster Altichron Men’s watch in Lightweight titanium case is an outstanding choice.

First introduced to the venerable Promaster collection in 1989, Altichron is now updated with the latest technologies and innovative design. Promaster Altichron combines Eco-Drive technology with altimeter and compass functionality to create the ultimate adventure-seeking timepiece. Hands for altitude and direction operate independently from the hour and minute hands so that the watch can display altitude or direction simultaneously with the time of day. Lightweight titanium ensures comfort and durability for those looking to push themselves beyond their limits and seek out new adventures.

No Regrets

I bought this watch for my husband and it's even better looking when I received it than when I saw it online. I had to take a few links out of the band so it would fit his wrist but he loves the watch! We're both happy with the purchase.

Beautiful Watch

I researched several bridge watches and this watch had the look I was looking for. The hour markers are luminated and the watch has some weight to it. Invicta is known for its quality and this watch is just another example of their quality. Oh and I got a great price at Lalamall.

Perfect!

Not only was this Patagonia cheaper than the Patagonia website, it included free shipping and was delivered instantly!
